DISTRICT STATISTICS & EVALUATION OFFICE KUPWARA

INTRODUCTION

The District Statistics & Evaluation office Kupwara is under the control of Directorate of Economics & Statistics J&K , Department of Planning, Development & Monitoring . The DSEO coordinates statistics of all the sectors of development  at district level and maintenance   thereof  by way of Publications Viz. District Statistical Handbook ,Economic Review , Village Amenity and District at Glance. The information contained in these publications are used as basis for developmental plans at district level  and is also  used by scholars for research purposes The DSEO is also assigned the work of 100% Physical Verification  of projects and conducts Evaluation Studies of Govt. Schemes of State & District Level. Besides these assignments this office also conduct the  various surveys like NSS, ICS and surveys assigned by State / Centre from time to time .

                     Conducting of all types of census assigned by  State/Central Government and  for the smooth conduct of  Population Census-2021,DSEO has been designated as Additional District Census Officer through the notification issued by PD&MD.

                    District Statistics and Evaluation officers are also designated as the Additional District Registrar of Births and Deaths and is responsible for improvement in registration sys tem through inspections, training  of staff, proper enforcement of Births and Deaths Registration Act, preservation of relevant records and getting monthly returns expedited to Direction office.

                    Collection of Prices of  Agricultural and Essential commodities. The price  collection is done from selected markets/shops and their  varieties  and  units  are also pre-specified  to  ensure comparability at various levels of aggregation.
