*DDC reviews power scenario of Kupwara district*
KUPWARA, FEBRUARY 01: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Imam Din today convened a meeting of concerned Engineers to review the status of power scenario in the district.
On the occasion, the DDC was apprised about the power schedule and was informed that 13 hour power supply is being provided in towns and metered areas. Besides, 09 hours power supply schedule is being followed in non metered areas of the district.
The DDC stressed upon the concerned engineers to gear up their field staff and machinery to augment power scenario in the district.
The DDC directed the engineers to take PRIs in confidence to conduct mass awareness among the people about the judicious use of electricity and share videos of the public awareness to his office.
The DDC directed the Executive Engineers to personally conduct weekly inspections in villages to keep check on bottlenecks for streamlining the power scenario in the district.
Earlier, the DDC was apprised about the status of all essential feeders functioning across the district.
Among others, Executive Engineer STD Sopore, Executive Engineer KPDCL Kupwara & Handwara and other concerned attended the meeting.
Later, a few public delegations also met the DDC in his office chamber and briefed him about the power supply issues facing them.
The DDC heard them patiently and issued on spot directions to the concerned engineers and officers to expedite the complainants.
