Republic Day Arrangements finalized in Kupwara.

Arrangement for the republic day celebration where finalized here today under the chairmanship of DDC Kupwara, A. M. Khanday.

The meeting decided that the function will start with the playing of Shanaiwadan by the Information center followed by flag hoisting at  10 A. M. The march past of the contingents of JKP, JKAP, BSF, CRPF and student of various educational institutions. The cultural programme will be presented by the students and the artists of Information department. The DDC stressed upon the officers to ensure un-interrupt drinking water and electricity supply .

Programme for polling staff. Commences at Kupwara

Kupwara: One day training programme for the polling staff for two Municipal committees of  Kupwara district commenced here today under the supervision of District Election officer. Abdul Majid Khandy. There are 26 wards for Kupwara and Handwara Municipal bodies. In all 9806 electorate will exercise their franchise for both the Municipal Committees. Out of total 9806 voters.4795 are female voters. Meanwhile, the election staff has been asked to collect election material from the office of District Election officer Kupwara on January 28th of  05 at 11 A.M.

11.20 crores being spent under BADP in  Kupwara.

Kupwara: under border area development programme Rs. 11.20 crores are being spent on the implementation of various development schemes in Kupwara district during the current fiscal year. Of this, Rs. 7 crores stands utilized by November end this year.

This was stated at a meeting of district officers convinced by the district development commissioner here Friday to review achievement registered under this programme in the district.

Under power sector Rs.2 crores have been incurred, by virtue of which 200 power transformers of different capacities have been installed. Under rural development sector Rs. 2.53 crores are being expended on the construction of 61 school buildings & 20 Godowns 54 rural development works have been completed so far.

By the assistance of Rs. 29 Lacks from NABARD. 10 Primary school buildings are under construction in the district.

Rs.14.30 crores loans extended in Kupwara.

Loans amounting of Rs. 14.30 crores have been extended foe setting up of different income generating units under Distt. Credit action plan in Kupwara Distt.  During current financial year so far .The annual credit plan for district this year is a whooping Rs. 48 Crores.

Loans amounting Rs. 14.30 crorer have been extended for setting for setting up of different income generating units under Distt. Credit plan .The annual credit plan for the Distt. This year is a whooping Rs. 48 crores.

Rs. 4 cr. spent under R&B in Kupwara

Roads and buildings department has spent Rs. 3.93 crores on the macadamazation of 3 kms long road and black topping of  57 Kms of  roads in the district during the current financial year so far, an officials spokesman said today.

This, the spokesman said, was stated at an officers meeting held here today under the chairmanship of distt. development commissioner ,Kupwara

The meeting was informed that Rs. 64 .77 lakhs have been spent on the construction of buildings for health institution at various places  .The department has also spent Rs. 13.62 lakhs for construction of school buildings at Gagal, Sogam & Titwal.

Kupwara:

In district Kupwara during this year Rs. 38 lakhs will be spent under sub tribal plan for different development works this information was given in a meeting of advisory board headed by DDC Kupwara.

In meeting it was given that Rs. 25 Lakhs where spent on water supply schemes for Kandi, Sogam, Warson & Goose and Rs. 76 lakhs have already been spent on these sachems.

In the meeting it was also informed that Rs, 5.50 lakhs will be spent on Dardpora & Manjdora roads .it was also informed Rs.10 Lakhs will be spent on sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry & Handloom for staring of 25 Sheep units, Dairy units and Handloom centers

In Border District of Kupwara the main function was held at District police Lines where the chief Guest, Minister of Agriculture and co-operative Abdul Aziz Zargar unfurled the National flag and took salute at the march past by the contingents of Jammu and Kashmir police, JKAP,BSF, Home Guards, CRPF, Fie services and students of various educational institutions.

The Deputy Commissioner, SP, Army Officers, District Officers and large number of people wee present to witness the celebrations.

Congratulating the people on the occasion Zargar said it was due to the sacrifice made by our leaders that we are living in a democratic set up and are able to elect our representatives which has led to the development and further added that coalition Government has strengthened the democratic institutions at the grass root level so that people can participate in decision making. Appealing people to participate in the coming Municipal Elections Zargar said that coalition Government is committed to bring peace with dignity for the progress of the state.

The cultural programme was presented by the school children and artists of the Information Department, which was witnessed by the large number of people.

Similar functions were organized at the Tehsil headquarters of Karnah and Handwara where the respective sub-Divisional Magistrates unfurled the tricolour.

Kupwara DEO issues Election Notification

According to a notification of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara filling of nomination forms for local body election has been fixed from Jan 10 to Jan 15,the scrutiny of the forms would be conducted on Jan 18,while the dates for withdrawal of candidature has been fixed on Jan20,2005.The Polling will be held on Jan 29 and the counting would take place on the same day.

R. Day arrangements finalized at Kupwara

Arrangements for forthcoming Republic Day celebrations were finalized at a meeting of officers with Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara,  A. M. Khandy in chair.

The meeting decided that the celebrations at district headquarter would start with Shahnai  Wadan followed by hoisting of national flag. Contingents of   JKP, Home Guards, Fire Services and School children will participate in march past. A cultural Programme will be presented by local children.

Similarly, functions will be also be held at Handwara and Karnah.

Arrangements for municipal elections finalized at Kupwara

Arrangements for free, fair and impartial conduct of municipal elections in Kupwara district were finalized at a meeting of officers chaired by District Election Officer, Abdul Majid Khandy. The meeting which was attended by 8 Returning and 26 Assistant Returning Officers was informed that 4153 electorate will exercise their franchise for Kupwara Municipal Committee while for Handwara Municipal Committee 5653 voter’s wold cast their vote.

Security and other related matters were also discussed in the meeting.
